The Dolomites have become part of the sites recognized by UNESCO as “World Heritage”, which means that their beauty and uniqueness must be protected and preserved for future generations.
This recognition is a great honour, but also a great burden for the people who live there and the administrations of the regions and provinces, where the majestic Dolomites rise.
We too at Hotel La Perla, living in Canazei, in the heart of the Dolomites, try to achieve our mission, striving to pass on to travelers and tourists who inhabit the valleys our love, care and respect for these wonderful peaks.
The SellaRonda, or “Giro del 4 Passi”
The Dolomites also called “The Pale Mountains” stretch in the Italian Eastern Alps from the Pustertal to Cadore and include Sellaronda known as the il “giro del 4 Passi”: Passo Sella, Passo Pordoi, Passo Campolongo, Passo Gardena, around the Dolomite Sella Group.
It is a route with exceptional views that connects the Val di Fassa, Arabba Livinnalongo, Val badia/Alta Badia and Val Gardena, during which it is possible to admire the Sella massif, the Sassolungo, the Sciliar, the Sassongher, the Pelmo, the Civetta and the Marmolada. It can be done by car, on foot, by bike and in winter with skis or snowboard.
There are many sporting events which see the Dolomites and the SellaRonda as stars: first of all, the Tour of Italy which has seen the best-known names in international cycling try their hand at legendary challenges.
The Hotel La Perla is the perfect base for those who want to access the Sellaronda starting from Canazei.
